London pedicab rides with the fare on screen — before anyone climbs in.

Pedicab London is a pedicab booking platform for the city. Passengers see the fare and arrival time before they book, track the ride live and pay in the app; drivers take requests, navigate and track their earnings; and operators watch every trip from one admin panel.

Ride volume, fleet size and revenue are the client's to share, and they are not on this page. What is on this page is what was built and why it was built that way.

The Context

Building a booking platform for a ride that was always priced at the kerb.

Pedicab London connects passengers with pedicab drivers across the city. A passenger searches where they are going, compares ride options with the fare, ETA and trip time, books, and follows the pedicab on the map. Beyond point-to-point rides, the app books tuk-tuk tours of London and pedicabs for events, and takes scheduled bookings ahead of time.

The brief was the whole platform: a passenger app, a driver app with KYC and earnings, and an admin panel for the operator — fleet tracking, bookings and rentals, transactions, customers and the service options on offer, from hourly hire to daily and weekly rentals.

The Challenge

Pedicab rides were booked on the street with no fixed fare, so riders never knew the price.

A London pedicab was something you flagged down. The price was whatever the driver said at the start — or at the end — with no meter, no published rate and no record of the trip. Riders could not compare, could not plan, and had no way to check what they had been charged.

Fixing that needs more than a price list. The fare has to be worked out for the actual route before the rider commits, the ride has to be tracked so the route matches the quote, and payment has to happen in the app — with drivers and the operator seeing the same trip the rider does.

Our Approach

Quote the fare first, track the trip, settle it in the app.

Every ride in Pedicab London starts with a price the rider has already seen and ends with a payment, a receipt and a rating — so nothing about the trip is agreed at the kerb.

The fare before the booking.

Passengers enter a destination and see ride options with the fare, ETA and trip time, plus a recommended fare and travel time for the route — before they request a driver.

Live tracking and routing.

The trip is drawn on Google Maps from pickup to drop-off, drivers are guided to the pickup and mark their arrival, and trip status moves in real time over sockets.

Payment and receipts in the app.

Riders pay by card through Stripe and Intercash, apply promo codes, and download the booking detail as a receipt afterwards.

Tours, events and scheduled rides.

Alongside point-to-point rides, passengers book tuk-tuk tours of London, pedicabs for events, and rides scheduled ahead of time.

A driver app built around KYC and earnings.

Drivers submit their NINO, UTR, proof of work, residence status and licence number in the app, take and navigate requests, and see what each trip earned in an in-app wallet.

An admin panel for the operator.

An Angular dashboard covers revenue, active pedicabs, bookings and rentals, a city-wide ride availability map, a live dispatch log, transactions, customers and service options — in English and Arabic.

What This Means in Practice

What this means in practice.

01

Riders see the fare before booking, instead of agreeing a price at the kerb.

02

Every ride is tracked on the map from pickup to drop-off, and the receipt can be downloaded afterwards.

03

Riders pay by card in the app, with promo codes and saved payment methods.

04

Tours, events and scheduled rides are booked in the same app as a ride across town.

05

Drivers complete KYC in the app and track their earnings trip by trip.

06

Operators monitor every trip, the fleet and the money from one admin panel.

Under the Hood

Stripe

Card payments for rides, tours and events.

Intercash

A second payment rail alongside Stripe.

Google Maps

Destination search, routing and live trip tracking.

Social Logins

Social sign-in alongside email and password.

Built for Every Platform

Two apps on the street, one panel above them.

The passenger and driver apps and the admin panel share one backend, so a booking is the same record for the rider, the driver and the operator.

By pricing the route, not the ride after the fact. In Pedicab London the passenger enters a destination and sees each ride option with its fare, ETA and trip time, plus a recommended fare and travel time, before requesting a driver — so the price is settled before anyone climbs in.

Yes. Pedicab London books point-to-point rides, tuk-tuk tours of London, pedicabs for events and scheduled rides from the same passenger app, and the operator manages the service options — hourly, point A to B, daily and weekly rentals — from the admin panel.

Through KYC in the driver app. Pedicab London drivers submit their National Insurance number, UTR, proof of work, residence status and licence number in the app, and the documents are stored in the cloud for the operator to review.

Usually, yes — passengers and drivers do different jobs. Pedicab London has a passenger app and a driver app, both in Flutter, on one Node.js backend, with an Angular admin panel for the operator, so a booking is the same record on every screen.

It depends on how many apps you need, what you book besides rides, and what the operator side does. A passenger app, driver app and admin panel like Pedicab London is scoped in phases and quoted fixed-price after a free scoping call.
