Momin is our own app, and it is still early: the Play Store shows 100+ downloads, which is too few to headline. What is on this page is what was built and why it was built that way.

Momin app screens — prayer times with an It's time for Asr notification, Duas, the Qibla compass at 256°, Tasbih, the prayer tracker with a 6-day streak, Hadith books, Al-Fatihah in English and Urdu, and adhan and translation settings
The Context

Building one Islamic app for everything a Muslim opens five apps to do.

Momin is an Islamic companion app for Android. It holds the full Quran with English and Urdu translations, the six books of Hadith with a Hadith of the Day, prayer times worked out from the user's location with an adhan reminder for each prayer, a Qibla compass and map, a digital Tasbih, morning and evening Duas & Azkar, a prayer tracker and a Hijri calendar.

It is one of the apps Next Level Software builds and publishes under its own name. There is no backend and no sign-up: everything runs on the phone, and the Play Store listing declares that the app collects no data.

The Challenge

Users needed Quran, Hadith, Qibla and prayer times in one app instead of several separate ones.

A practising Muslim's phone usually carries a Quran app, a Hadith app, a prayer-times app, a Qibla finder and a tasbih counter — each with its own settings, its own notifications and often its own account. Prayer times disagree between them because each uses a different calculation method, and switching apps five times a day is friction at exactly the moments that should be calm.

Putting them in one app only helps if every part is trustworthy on its own. Prayer times have to match the user's location, Madhab and local mosque; the Qibla has to point the right way; the Quran and Hadith have to read cleanly in the user's language — and all of it has to work offline, without asking anyone to sign up.

Our Approach

Everything on the device, every setting in the user's hands.

Momin is one Flutter app with no backend: the texts live on the phone, prayer times are calculated from the phone's location, and the settings decide how they are calculated.

Prayer times the user can trust.

Times are worked out from the device's location, with the Madhab, the calculation method and a per-prayer adjustment to match the local mosque — and a countdown to the next prayer on the home screen.

A reminder for every prayer.

Each prayer has its own adhan notification that can be switched on or off, delivered by the phone itself rather than a server.

The Quran and Hadith, readable offline.

The full Quran with English and Urdu translations, continue-reading and favourite verses, and the six Hadith books with search and a Hadith of the Day — all stored on the device.

Qibla by compass or by map.

The Qibla finder uses the phone's compass and location to show the direction and distance to the Kaaba in Makkah, with a map view as a second check.

Daily practice, tracked.

A digital Tasbih with 33, 99 and custom rounds, morning and evening Duas & Azkar, and a prayer tracker with a weekly grid, streaks and insights.

Settings that fit the user.

Hijri date adjustment for local moon sighting, 12- or 24-hour time, English or Urdu, and system, light or dark theme.

What This Means in Practice

What this means in practice.

01

The Quran, Hadith, Qibla, Tasbih and prayer times are in one app instead of five.

02

Prayer times follow the user's location, Madhab and calculation method, and can be adjusted to match the local mosque.

03

Every prayer gets its own reminder, with a countdown to the next one on the home screen.

04

The Quran and Hadith read offline, in English or Urdu.

05

Users track their prayers week by week and keep a streak.

06

No account and no data collected — the app works the moment it is installed.

Building an app that has to work offline, with no backend?

Built for Every Platform

One app, everything on the phone.

Momin has no backend. The Flutter app carries the Quran, the Hadith and the Duas itself, and calculates prayer times and the Qibla from the phone's own location and compass.

Calculate them from the user's location and let the user choose how. Momin works out prayer times on the device from the phone's location, with a choice of Madhab and calculation method and a per-prayer adjustment so the times can match the local mosque.

Yes. Momin has no server at all: the Quran, Hadith and Duas are stored in the app, prayer times and the Qibla are calculated from the phone's location and compass, and reminders are scheduled as local notifications. There is no account, and the app collects no data.

It combines the phone's location with its compass to point toward the Kaaba in Makkah and show the distance, with a map view as a second way to check the direction.

Yes. Momin shows the Quran with English and Urdu translations side by side, runs its interface in either language, and carries Duas in Arabic, Urdu and English.

Less than most apps, because there is no backend to build or host — the cost sits in the content, the prayer-time logic and the polish. An app like Momin is scoped and quoted fixed-price after a free scoping call.
